Columbia Bank

I’ve had the privilege of working on the Columbia Bank account for 7 years and counting. During that time, I’ve seen them grow into one of the region’s largest banks as they work to help grow the businesses of their customers. Below are a few of the campaigns we’ve done during that time:

“TOGETHER”

Columbia Bank recently purchased Umpqua Bank, another regional bank in the Pacific Northwest.
We were tasked with making customers from both banks feel good about the merger, without calling it a merger.
This video ran on broadcast TV and was cut down into :15s to utilize in social media.

“PASS IT ON”

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses were really hurting. Columbia Bank developed a program
to help bring relief to their small business customers as well as the people living in those communities.
We developed a campaign to help promote the program as well as shine the light on the small businesses involved.
And because it was during the lock-down, we did it all remotely.


We first interviewed business owners who were receiving money from CB and gave them an opportunity
to tell their COVID stories. We then collected those videos in a microsite. Print, radio and social media ads
drove people to the microsite where people could learn more about the program and each individual business.

“WHERE RELATIONSHIPS RULE”

Columbia Bank prides itself on its long-term relationships with customers. They wanted to highlight a few of these relationships
in a brand awareness campaign utilizing broadcast TV, print and digital media. You’d know I was lying if I said that using
real customers as talent was an easy assignment, but luckily our stars truly do love Columbia Bank so their voices were honest and authentic.
We drove traffic from the ads to a microsite where we highlighted videos, product information and blogs. The campaign was a success
and helped Columbia Bank take another step toward becoming one of the largest and most trusted banks in the region.
